VERY highly recommended!!!
Review by Cg D. on 10 May 2019 review stating VERY highly recommended!!! Short review, I just purchased my second pair from BB last week. The fit was right on exactly the same as the first pair & again very comfortable right out of the box. Really impressed with them & if you want more info see below. _x000D_

We own a small biz(trash svc) & I’m outside on my feet working pretty steady. Even when not “working”, I wear my boots for taking care of things in our shop & around our acreage 7 days a wk. When I was a younger man I really liked basketball shoes & just used my older shoes for work until they were done. After that was buying cheap new sneakers to use with hit & miss results. About 7-8 yrs ago bought a pair of boot looking Sketchers. Of course they were not up to the task & fell apart quickly. I did like the look so decided to pony up & step up to a real boot. Went with some mid level Red Wings($175-225) which took a little getting used to for a few days but wound up loving them. The soles seemed to wear down in 6 mths so I bought a 2nd pair & had the 1st resoled($70-100?). I bought(& resoled) 3 pairs total & after the break in(any where from 3 days to a mth), I really liked them. What I didn’t like was the high cost of trying to keep tread underneath them. The uppers we’re in semi worn shape of course but still very structurally sound. _x000D_

I would of went back that way probably but I was annoyed with the sole wear obviously. I asked my buddy who does underground construction & he highly recommended Ariat. He said he’d tried a bunch of different brands & what he’s used for yrs(8” Hermosa XR’s) are the ones that hold up the best. I wear shorts almost exclusively so I wanted a 6” boot & unfortunately no option with the Hermosa so I decided to try the Mastergrips. _x000D_

Right out of the box the boots fit nice. They felt a little different of course but almost immediately I felt comfortable in them with minimal break in time. I was used to taking time to get them good so it would not of been an issue but it was surprising. That was X-Mas 2017 & I’ve worn those boots literally every single day except during a 5 day out of state vacation. They have performed flawlessly & have been EXTREMELY impressed by them. There is some life left in the soles but they were getting low after 16 mths of constant use so I started looking for replacements. The originals were “oily distressed” which were fine but I was gonna go with the MetGuard as I thought they looked really cool. Looking around on BB seen the the “Briar Brown” was on sale for a Hundy so for 1/2 price figured since they’re work boots & will be covered in dust, mud, etc most of the time who cares... _x000D_

I’ve only had the new ones a week but I’m thrilled that I’m loving them just as much as the first pair. If Ariat has another model that I like the looks of I’ll give it a shot in the future but I’m pretty thrilled with the WorkGrips. The only downside(as some others have said) for me is they can get pretty funky smelling. We live in the desert so of course my legs/feet sweat so it gets damp in there so that can’t help. Also the waterproof aspect I’m sure adds to the inability for the feet to breath better but I just shoot them with Lysol every now & then & it’s fine. I don’t find them to be hot or heavy wearing sometimes 16+ hrs a day. _x000D_
